This tool helps candidates prepare for the Association for Project Management Project Management Qualification (APM PMQ). Much of the study material it presents comes directly from APM's published work, and we want to be plain and honest about that. This page sets out what we've used, where it came from, and the basis on which we use it.

Source material

The learning content in this tool — the topic texts, the figures and diagrams, and the glossary — is drawn from the APM Body of Knowledge, 8th edition, © Association for Project Management 2025. The topic text and glossary are reproduced verbatim, and the figures are reproduced from the published edition. The practice questions are our own, written and derived from the concepts in the relevant BoK topics.

Wherever a figure or topic is shown, it is credited to its location in the BoK (for example, “APM BoK 8th ed., p.23”) so it is always clear that the material is APM's, not ours.

Permission status

This is a private beta for personal study. The verbatim APM material is used here pending APM's written permission. The tool is not published, sold, or commercially distributed, and it will not be without that permission in hand. The paid (Pro) features remain switched off behind a flag in the meantime.

Acknowledging a source is not the same as holding the right to reproduce it. We credit APM scrupulously because it is the honest thing to do — but we also recognise that the copyright in the Body of Knowledge belongs to APM, and we are seeking their permission accordingly.

Not affiliated, not endorsed

This is an independent tool built by Forward Projects Ltd. It is not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by the Association for Project Management. “APM”, “APM Body of Knowledge” and “PMQ” are the property of the Association for Project Management.

The practice questions, model answers, mark schemes and any AI-generated feedback are study aids produced by us — they are not official APM examination material and should not be taken as such.
